Jake Tanzer in Mississippi, 1967

Jake had gone to Mississippi in 1964 as part of Department of Justice team. My Mississippi Story

He returned to Mississippi in 1967 as a volunteer with a group of lawyers representing “civil rights clients whom Mississippi lawyers found it awkward, distasteful or even dangerous, to represent.”
